Sunrise Stables provides very special care for retired horses. They have worked hard for you for years and deserve only the best in care the final years of their lives. They receive the best feeds and hay. They are dewormed and shod or trimmed regularly. The kids here love to spend time with them and groom them on a regular basis. Sunrise is a wonderful place for senior horses. (We know, our own retired horses live here.)

Dylan & Oliver 19 & 20 Yrs old, retired Dressage horses and Best Buddies	Big Mac 26 year old retired hunter from Florida abandoned here by his owners! But we love him!	Buddy & Brady 38 & 20 years old, another set of best buddies!
Ziggy Ziggy was our very first boarder, now 22 years old, Ziggy is one of ours, originally a hunter in New York came here for rehab from a severe neck injury, Gammon competed him in dressage and eventing. He then became one of our schoolmasters and won many ribbons eventing with our students. Still too young and sound to retire, Ziggy went to work with a local therapeutic riding center where he won many Special Olympics Gold and Silver medals as well as the hearts of many children. He developed a heart condition late this spring and came back to Sunrise to live out his years, he has certainly earned it!	Cartier 28 years old, Cartier has been with us for many years...still happily roaming our fields.	Chessie A very special mare, Gammon's eventing horse for many years and the mother of her current horse Ariscany and Sarah's horse Wimby. After having 2 wonderful babies for us, Chessie is now happily retired. ( picture taken in 1999)

Although we love all the horses who come to retire at Sunrise... there is one very special horse who still gallops the fields and watches over us all... Gammon's horse Tex, the reason we started retiring horses at Sunrise...
